BETTER PERFORMANCE IN OR OUT OF LISTED
FURROW AND OVER BORDERS ON IRRIGATED
FIELDS — Tractors equipped with Roll-OMatic
follow the furrow with much less effort on the part
of the operator. One wheel can be partially out of the
furrow - the other in the furrow, and the machine can be
handled just as easily as if both were in the furrow. There
is no difference in the spacing between front wheels on
tractors with or without Roll-O-Matic,Wheels are
reversible to obtain a wider spacing for more satisfactory
operation in muddy conditions.
When plowing, the tractor will sometimes drop into the
furrow. It is difficult to pull a conventional tractor back
up onto the land even though the differential brake is
applied. Tractors with Roll-O-Matic can be pulled out of
the furrow and up onto the land with little effort on the
part of the operator.
Borders on irrigated fields can be crossed easily and
smoothly. Some time ago special overlapping front wheels
were made available to cross borders on irrigated fields,
and while this equipment made it possible to handle the
tractor with less bounce, the entire load was imposed on
one tire and then the other. Roll-O-Matic does the job
and load on the front wheels is the same at all times.
EASIER RIDING BECAUSE OF LESS BOUNCE — The front end of tractors equipped with Roll-O-Matic
raises just one-half the height of obstruction over which
|
either front wheel passes. For example, in running over
an obstacle 5" high, the front end will actually raise only
2-1/2". One wheel raises 2-1/2" — the other wheel is
forced down 2-1/2". This means easier, safer operation
when working in rough ground conditions .
AVAILABILITY — This equipment will be available on
an allotment basis starting around July 1, 1947. The exact
date for shipment has not been definitely determined. It
will be available only on tractors from the factory for at
least the present. Later on it will be available for tractors
now in the field.
Roll-O-Matic does not require a new pedestal — it is
interchangeable with a regular double knuckle and spindle.
HOWTO ORDER — Although there is no change in
the wheel equipment so far as wheels or tire sizes are
concerned, there is a difference in the front wheel hub
which necessitates setting up new wheel equipment numbers.
Please understand tire sizes and wheels are exactly
the same. This number has been set up as a result of the
difference in wheel hub. The equipment should be
ordered as follows:
Model #169 “A”Tractor, with
AA-3882R All-Fuel Engine, or
AA-3883R Gasoline Engine
AA-3980R Power Lift, or
AA-3981R Powr-Trol for Rockshaft operation only; also order
AA-3733R Cylinder with oil lines when Powr-Trol for both Rockshaft and Remote Cylinder
operation is desired.
